Gays and Lesbians against Transgender People

It's been a prying question for me for a while because people will always say "you have to accept who you are". Which can be taken two ways: (1) accept that you are female/male with straight/gay sexuality, (2) accept that you are not like everybody else and you are unique. Mainly some people will believe it's the first way, which I'll use myself as an example: I have to accept I am a straight female. But I don't identify as a female and have been transgender all my life.

It has become very difficult because people will ask: "You're straight why would you want to become a guy?" Which it's difficult to explain to someone who won't take the classic; "I was born in a women's body but I have a male brain." Typically I don't want to explain my whole life's story to someone who doesn't understand why I am trans.
