What is a transman?

Being a transman it's quite difficult for someone who still appears to be female outwards (speaking about myself).  I would definitely describe this to others by asking them: "How did you know you were ____?"  This would work for those who may be gay/lesbian/bisexual/straight or guy/girl/hermaphrodite.  It's a difficult subject to touch on because there is lots of arguments like: "Well you need to be comfortable with who you are." And that quote can be taken many ways like who you are mentally or the physical aspect which can be much more of a challenge to deal with. I'm not saying we're changing ourselves to be perfect (which is not realistic at all) it's more like we're changing our bodies to fit how we identify on the inside. No because we're told we look masculine/feminine or can't find someone as the current gender (which is totally unrealistic and would be pretty weird). 

To make sure this is very clear I'll try to say it more simply a transman is a person who is born as a female (female genetics and bits), but besides that identifies as a male.

This photo/art was sent to me from a mysterious person who I have yet to identify, but I can really identify with it since that is the situation that I am currently in at the moment.  I hope it does help to reintegrate the information in the paragraph above.
